J. Christopher (Chris) Wilson was born and raised in Bamberg, South Carolina. Chris is the first of three brothers born to lifelong Bamberg residents Jimmy and Garnett Wilson. His father Jimmy worked in quality control for over 30 years, and his mother Garnett taught school for over 40 years. They instilled in Chris the values of hard work, honesty, service and integrity – values he ascribes to in his law practice and everyday life.
Chris attended Bamberg public schools and graduated valedictorian from Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School in 1987. He then attended Wofford College where he graduated in 1991 with honors and as a Phi Beta Kappa inductee. While at Wofford College, Chris was active in numerous activities and service organizations and competed on Wofford’s golf team.
Chris was admitted to the South Carolina Bar after receiving his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1994. Chris received several recognitions in Law School, including highest honors in Torts/Injury.
After Law School, he served as a Judicial Clerk for The Honorable Frank McGowan, South Carolina Circuit Court Judge. He then entered the private practice of law, working as an associate for the Bamberg law firm of Early & Ness until 1998 when he formed Wilson Law Firm. Later, he formed Wilson & Luginbill, LLC with Dan Luginbill which has now transitioned to Wilson Law Group, LLC in 2019.
Chris is an experienced attorney whose reputation for representing clients, including his trial work, is well known throughout South Carolina. He has an extensive practice focused primarily on personal injury claims.
